Gospel Topics

from April & Jake, 27 Sep 2009 0 comments

We were just doing some Sunday lds.org surfing and found a few cool topics pages. I didn't know these existed:

Hope
Prayer
Jesus Christ

Sweet stuff. Here are a few more sometimes lesser-known pages:

Jesus Christ
New maps site
Mormon Messages

Watch Dallin do some tricks.

Full Range

A full range of emotion is witnessed here, all in less than a minute. It's fun to see all the sides of Dallin -- especially the happy ones!

Camera Aura

They do say that mere observation will change the behavior of the observed... Extreme crying to extreme butterfly eating. If that doesn't show the power of the camera on this baby of mine, then.....

Grab Bag

from Jake, 27 Sep 2009 2 comments

Dallin has had a lot of cute moments lately. These are just a few out of the grab bag. Today is especially delicious. Enjoy.

Once Dallin gets a little faster at rolling over, we'll show you the steam roller action. Right now, he's doing a lot of rolling, but it's just generally one at a time or in slow succession, making for a really slow-paced film, akin to that of watching Ammon await responses from King Lamoni.

Surprise from Alinda

from Jake, 18 Sep 2009 1 comment

Alinda decided to pay us a visit in Utah, unexpectedly, a couple weekends ago. It was fun to see her again. As usual, she had her camera handy, and thus we have a few good snapshots at her hand. Thanks, Alinda!

Mock Disaster Take-away

from April & Jake, 14 Sep 2009 4 comments

We just had a mock disaster week in our ward. It was designed to thrust us into inconvenient, potentially disaster-like circumstances and test our preparedness. Here are some of the thought questions that we had for ourselves as take-away:

- What would we do for heating?
- How would we bathe ourselves?
- How would we do laundry?
- Where would we get fresh food?
- What would we use for light?
- How would we cook our food?
- Would we be able to get to _______ with the gas we have?
- What would we do for diapers?
- What would we decide to eat on a daily basis? Ie, menu & ingredients
- What would we do for entertainment?
- What would we do for work/job?
- What would our long-term water supply be?
- What would we do for a bathroom?
- What would we do if we had to evacuate?
- What would we do in case of widespread disease?
- What would we do if our house was destroyed?
- What would we do if we died?
- What would we do if we were separated?
- What would we do if we were sick/injured?

We're answering them for FHE.

Hi-tech Conferencing

from Jake, 08 Sep 2009 1 comment

We recently moved to the Riverton Office Building. There are many new communication options. Zooming a remote camera to a laptop screen and then pointing to it probably wasn't the original use-case for this teleconference room, but that's what has happened. Sometimes less really is more.

Big boy

from Jake, 30 Aug 2009 2 comments

Dallin's getting to do more big boy stuff. Well, at least bigger than the boy stuff Dallin used to do. This includes, feeding himself, eating mashed vegetables, and screaming, only at a more manly pitch.

Self Feeding

from Jake, 30 Aug 2009 2 comments

I decided that if he was always so eager, he could feed himself. He had fun with it. He's not all that great at using a bottle in the first place. This just added to the play aspect of his already inefficient bottle time.
