The Importance of Loving Our Neighbor

from Jake, 27 Aug 2009 1 comment

In His parable of the sheep and the goats, the Lord describes those whom He will place on His right hand. “For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” When the righteous asked at what time they had the honor of loving the Savior in such ways, He said, “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matt 25:31-46)

What Can I Do

from April & Jake, 23 Aug 2009 0 comments

Life is a many splendid thing, especially when mixed with such enhancements as splenda and msg. Even without such intensities, April and I feel very blessed to be able to continue having a great summer, podcasting, playing with our great son, Dallin, and hoping for a blessed tomorrow. Thanks to all those to whom we owe so much, especially to our Heavenly Father to whom we owe this day and our daily existence!

Tired of being tired

from Jake, 23 Aug 2009 4 comments

It's getting more obvious when Dallin is tired. This is a quiet descent into a bedtime routine. Isn't he a cute little stinker? And what's the extra huge shirt for? That shirt and the mother's tireless attention to his nails and constant vigilance are the reasons for such a nice looking scalp on this child.

Worms

from Jake, 23 Aug 2009 1 comment

We just babysat two little girls for some friends while they went to the afternoon dedication for the Oquirrh Mountain Utah temple. We picked some apples off our tree and hoped these little buggers weren't contained within. Then sang a few Wee Sing songs, including I Guess I'll Go Eat Worms. Then I whipped out the 'ol Wacom pad and wow'ed 'em with some paperless painting. Haha.

Island Park Reunion

from Jake, 16 Aug 2009 0 comments

Jake's family got together at Island Park for a bit of fun in the sun. McKay and Grandma and Grandpa came too! It was a ton of fun, really great to take time off, and a pretty place to spend some time.

The golden age of clunkers, ended?

from Jake, 31 Jul 2009 0 comments

The latest government stimulus program, Cash for Clunkers, or CARS, seems to have been a hit. Already the program is out of money to continue dealing. Or so has been reported by the news outlets.

Rice Cereal Awesome

from April & Jake, 28 Jul 2009 4 comments

Today Dallin happily consumed his first rice cereal. I must stuff my face around him quite a bit because he knew exactly how to do it and took to his new edibles quite well. April had fun feeding him. I tried too, but was too impatient, so I just poured the cereal straight from the bowl into his mouth. April could only stand watching that so many times, and she soon resumed the helm in the process. This boy's cute. His bib was huge. His hands were a hindrance to the process, and he was really fun to watch.

Once picasa decides it doesn't want to wallow in its own version of the fail whale, I'll give you a nice collage for your desktop background.

Where will it lead?

from Jake, 27 Jul 2009 0 comments
"In all these areas we can see threats creeping up things we love, and we cannot afford to be indifferent or quiet. We must be ever vigilant to ask "Where will it lead?" and to sound appropriate warnings or join appropriate preventive efforts while there is still time. Often we cannot prevent the outcome, but we can remove ourselves from the crowd who, by failing to try to intervene, has complicity in the outcome."
