Crystal River Four-wheeling

from Jake, 18 Nov 2008 2 comments

A couple months back, we went to the grand state (even though it recently went blue) of Colorado to see some of the amazing Fall colors. Well, we would have been focusing on that if not for the constant fear that was endured by all as Jake navigated the four-wheeling road up the canyon.

World of Goo!

It's probably not hard to imagine that a certain computer game has recently caught my fancy. It's a fun, quirky, ultra-stylized casual gaming feast, and it's full of GOO!

I just ran across this the other day, and independently developed game on a few game review sites that's grabbing up editors choice and very high review scores. From the screenshots, I immediately thought of a fun online physics-based game Fantastic Contraption.

Hehe, try it out! There's a nice 30 Mb demo with 12 or so levels here.

Mormons Tip Scales in Prop 8 Battle

Episodes in which the moral fabric of society is questioned and challenged by those desiring to change it will likely only continue. Prophets of the Lord have long foretold the challenges that will face nations and the world as a whole in the last days. It's so good to know that the church will never falter from the will of the Lord. It is humbling to see the Lord's hand in recent events. Undoubtedly, it will only be reveal further in the future. Simultaneously, I think we will see even more starkly how real the agency is that our Father in Heaven has given us: either to uphold and further righteous causes or to shrink in apathy against advancing evil.

Hooray for every battle won in the cause of truth and right. As in this article, I think the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will continue to become more visible in its stalwart stand for good.

Add This to my Living Room

This is a great addition to the 21st century entertainment system. If I spent as much time in front of one of these things as on a keyboard, I'd become either an incredible hulk of a programmer or a martial artist.

Leave Your Print!

from Jake, 04 Nov 2008 0 comments

Well, the months and months of incessant political campaigning are about to come to a close. I feel relieved and yet uneasy. Hehe. Turbulent times call for strong, righteous leaders. Where's Captain Moroni or Pahoran when you need them?

Well, it's time to get out the vote, time to go brave those incredibly long lines to cast the ballot that represents one of our opportunities to contribute. It's good to do more than whine.

Utah has a good turn out the vote campaign: Leave Your Print. There are many issues that we are faced with today and undoubtedly will face in the coming years. Let's do what we can to make the most of it!

Yes on Prop 8

The battle over the legalization of gay marriage continues to rage. For the future of our children, I pray that this evil will be curbed and not embraced by our society. I saw one of our designers working on this site the other day, so I looked it up tonight: PreservingMarriage.org. It's an official pro-Prop 8 site for the church. The stance of the Lord and His church in this matter is so firm, so right. I think that most people can really sense that. The pull of the world to be progressive and "tolerant" is, however, amazingly strong. I love the last video, which sounds much like a talk we heard in conference, where the girl says that Jesus taught the higher law of tolerance as love and forgiveness, not tolerance for sin.
